Spiritual Transformation through Crisis

By  |

CJ Liu interviews Frank Pasciuti, Phd. about his book “Chrysalis Crisis: How Life’s Ordeals Can Lead to Personal & Spiritual Transformation.” Listen as they discuss how you can use your life ordeals to bring about personal and spiritual growth. Frank shares the ten key areas of growth that are needed for personal growth. They are:

  • Five foundational areas: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and moral;
  • Three personal areas: identity, intimacy, and existential growth; and
  • Two trans-personal development areas: intuitive and spiritual growth.

CJ and Frank talk about trans-personal experiences, which include events that make us feel like we are going crazy. For example, deceased loved ones visiting us during the night. While these experiences feel abnormal, they are very common. Frank and CJ share their experiences with raising a family and how that can be transformational as well. Frank explains that during these times of change, the areas we need healing and development in the most will show up. For example, CJ shares that her fears, worries, and doubts about her kids even though they are grown adults. CJ discusses her empty nest transition and how that maps to Frank’s ten areas of growth and development.
