What was Randy’s motivation to start Project Happiness? During this segment, Randy shares her motivation to start Project Happiness. Her son shared that he “didn’t know how to be happy.” He was not alone. Sadly, as Randy researched, she realized that stress and anxiety was one of the primary causes of disabilities. At the time, Randy was working as a film producer for the Dalai Lama. This gave her access to interview George Lucas, Richard Gere, and neuroscientist Richard Davidson. Through technology, film, and her connections with the Dalai Lama, she was able to create a dialogue between teenagers and the Dalai Lama.

As the discussion deepened, the main question became clear: What is the nature of lasting happiness? What they discovered was that happiness does not come externally through possessions and comparisons, but instead it comes from the inside.
